"I purchased a small travel-size bottle of this to carry in my purse (please bring back the travel sizes!) and was amazed at how non-greasy the formula was and how well it moisturized. I've been hooked since. I agree that the bottle/pump system can be problematic that it becomes difficult to get lotion out toward the end of the bottle-- there will be lots of lotion left in the bottle but the lotion will not naturally flow to the bottom to reach the end of the pump tube. The fragrance is light and mild and the formula is gel-like and absorbs perfectly. It is light in the summer and still moisturizing enough in the winter. Love love love!"

"Poor bottle shape"

"I think the old formula was better, but the new formula is not a deal breaker. What did it for me was the new bottle shape. It is very difficult to get all of the lotion out, even with the bottle tipped upside down. I have a hard time throwing away good product, but at some point it's not worth it to shake and pound it. I have been using this lotion for years but I've started trying other brands."

"The new formula is a waxy, sticky mess that just sits on my skin without moisturizing it at all. I had used the prior formula for 15+ years but will not use St. Ives in the future unless the old formula is brought back."

"I used the old version of Renewing since it has been on the market, as well as the one before (amongst other St. Ives products) for over 20 years. Your product was FABULOUS! I can't understand WHY you would mess with something with perfection??? Change the packaging, increase the price...yes, I will agree.....but don't mess with the best. )-: Am shopping for a replacement. What a drag!"

"Couldn't agree more with the other reviews on this lotion. The old version gave amazing results, far better than much more expensive brands - really was one of those products that did the job claimed. I used to recommend it to everyone. Please bring it back. :-)"

"how long has it been now? the old formula is a yearning memory. the days of youthful vibrant skin long gone. the only thing that helps a little is vaseline...am i being punished? my mom felt like i was punishing her when i gave her the "new improved" bottle, before ultimately throwing them all out. how much more time has to pass before st ives realizes that their "improved" formula is... garbage! here's a tip: listen to your loyal customers st ives."

"The new formular is horrible! It feels like it has vaseline in it that stays on top of your skin versus absorbing, makes me feel like my skin's trapped and can't breath, so much so that it puts me in cold sweat within a few minutes. I really don't want to use it anymore and feel forced to find something else - I hate that thought, I loved the old formula lotion!
I have been using the Collagen/Elastin Lotion for 15 yrs now. A friend had it, I tried it, loved it and never switched away from it again. Even when you changed the scent a couple yrs ago I got used to the change since it's such a good lotion. It used to be light, fast and completely absorbing, and really made my skin feel good all the time. But this formula is no getting used to!!! It's aweful!
PLEEEEASE got back to the old formula, PLEEASE and do it soon!!!
And please let me know what to do with the 1/2 full bottle plus an additional unopened one of this horrific new formula. Refund (without receipt, don't have it anymore) or better yet, please go back to the old formula and replace my bottles with the "new" old formula."

"I have been using the Collagen and Elastin Formula for as long as I can remember. The "new" formula is waxy, not emollient or smooth at all, and not as moisturizing as the old formula. I have an inch of product left in my old bottle and the difference between the two is remarkable, not in a good way. If you read these reviews, you will see that the consumers are screaming Bring back the old formula!!"

"I've been using St. Ives for a couple of years and have loved all of the scents of the hand lotions. I recently bought a new bottle and do not like the smell at all. Please go back to the tried and true formulas ... newer is not always better."

"Don't like new formula"

"I have been using this product for 10 years or more and was so disappointed to realize the formula has changed. It is oily, not as moisturizing and even the scent is completely different. PLEASE go back to the old formula. I can't believe it was changed without even any indication on the packaging. I thought I was crazy at first or got a bad bottle. My hands have been so dry the past couple months and now I realize it is because of the new formula. Please change it back."

"What happened to old formulas?"

"I've been using St. Ives for years. I bought this formula because it appears the "skin smoothing" formula has been discontinued. It feels heavier on my skin and the fragrance is way too strong for a body lotion. I wish when new products are introduced it doesn't mean the end of the old ones. As always I appreciate the absence of parabens/phtalates."

"I am relieved to read that I'm not the only one disappointed with the new formula St Ives Collagen Elastin. I used the Extra Dry Skin variety for about 10 years and it was really the only stuff that worked for me. Absolutely amazing product. But then suddenly they replaced it with this terrible oily new formula.
Please, St. Ives, just go back to the original. Keep the new packaging or whatever but please give us back the old one."

"I agree with the other customers. I've been using this product since I was 16 years old! 25 years! It took me several years to find the right scent I liked after you changed it, but would love the old formula! I prefer LOVE or LIKE for sure. My husband loves my skin and says something about it everyday! The quality of the product is good, but don't care for the fragrances. The choices smell awful. Well, not to my liking anyway. I so miss the original fragrance! Can you do a Limited Edition or Blast form the Past type campaign? I would buys a case! Also, more portable sizes of it for the gym. I need a flip cap. A descent size bottle as I do my whole body. Not just the "dry" areas or just legs."

"Why Did you Change?"

"I've been using this product since I was a little girl. My mom used to only buy this brand and I loved the way it smelled and felt on my skin (thick and not dehydrating with alcohol... like it is now). Why change something that good to begin with!? Because it’s cheaper for you to fill it with alcohol? I hate to change lotions, but I want a lotion that will hydrate, not dry. Very disappointed to leave a once loved brand. Let me know if you decide to fix your mistake and go back to the old formula… I will be the first to buy again."
